How do you run a growing, New York-based design studio from a small sailboat whilst circumnavigating the world? It's not easy. It would be impossible if it wasn't for the hard-working, dedicated and talented team of partners, designers and vendors back in New York, and it would be a whole lot harder if it wasn't for the help of our sponsors. Our ship has sailed, but it’s not too late to sponsor us. If you're interested, or would like to learn more about our unique sponsorship opportunities,

i&D Media Group is proud to have the support of Panasonic Toughbook® computers aboard Dream Time. Sailing around the world is challenging enough, you must have the right gear to survive the conditions - the constant motion of the boat, the damp humid air, storms, breaking seas - the environment can be unforgiving and relentless. If there's a weakness in your equipment mother nature will exploit it. It's reassuring knowing our Panasonic Toughbook computers have been designed, engineered and tested to survive these extreme conditions. It's one less thing to worry about. Thank you Toughbook.

Toughbook-30
The fully rugged Toughbook 30, with its shock mounted hard drive,
waterproof keyboard and gasket-sealed access ports, was originally intended to be our navigation system, allowing us to view digital charts outside whilst underway. But its combination of durability and speed means whether we're checking emails, planning our next passage or processing large multimedia files, its fast enough to handle the load, and tough enough to take some serious abuse.
Toughbook-Y5
The Toughbook Y5 is our primary workstation below deck. Whether we're at anchor or underway, its combination of durability, speed and large 14.1" LCD screen makes it the ideal system for working on graphic files, and viewing our photos and videos with the built-in SD card reader. Its sleek design and light 3.7 lb design also makes it perfect for taking on road trips, and with the magnesium alloy case and shock-mounted hard drive, we know it can
handle the journey. |

It's the people we meet on our world adventure that truly define the places we visit. Panasonic's Lumix® Digital Cameras
allow us to capture an emotion, an instance of vulnerability, a fleeting connection with a stranger - moments
that we'll save, share and cherish for a lifetime. |

|

Thanks to Panasonic's generous donation of their
HD camcorder we're able to capture and secure
our experiences on Dream Time in stunning high definition, allowing us to relive the journey
in all its original splendor, long after we've reached our final destination.
Its compact, lightweight design with no moving parts, and the flexibility to save videos and images
to both the internal hard drive or the removable SDHC card, makes it ideal for capturing life
when you're always on the move. Now we're really living in high definition!

Whether we're recording colorful reef fish in Kuna Yala, Black Tip sharks in Polynesia
or the drama of big seas from Dream Time's pitching deck, life onboard a sail boat is more often than not, wet. But now, thanks to Panasonic's new waterproof SD video
camera we're able to literally dive right in to the moment and capture the experience
in vibrant high-quality XP video or colorful 640x480 still photos. And with a 10x Optical Zoom we can get closer to the sharks, without having to get closer to the sharks.

Our sail inventory was the most essential investment we made whilst preparing Dream Time for her world circumnavigation. Knowing that they would be expected to perform in some of the most demanding conditions imaginable, and carry us well over 20,000 nautical miles, North Sails combination of durable, high-performance sailcloth, hardware and skilled sailmaking skills provided us with a custom suit of sails that we know will go the distance.
North Sail continues to provide Dream Time with additional hardware and advice - ensuring that whether they're filled with the steady trades of the Caribbean or reefed to withstand the demanding conditions of the low lattitudes, they'll be up for the task. |

The earlier you sight a remote marker, dangerous reef or identify the heading of distant ship, the more time you have to react. Steiner binoculars are our eyes at sea, enabling us to see more and anticipate what's coming, before it arrives. The rugged construction, waterproof casing, precision manufacturing and advanced optics deliver an image that is clear and bright, enabling us to remain focused, whatever we're approaching. And as the innovators of the integrated compass, with Steiner, we know precisely where to look.
Steiner binoculars may not enable us to see the future, but they come
very close - thank you Steiner. |

Emailing from a 'traditional office' is more often than not, simple and reliable. You just click "Send". However, when you're working from a sailboat at sea, anchored in a harbor or tied-up in a remote corner of the world, email communication can never be taken for granted. Even if you're fortunate enough to have a signal, losing connectivity during a transmission means you're forced to start all over again! With Global Marine Networks' XGate software, it's no problem, you just reconnect and continue where you left off. Designed for satellite phones or for users who just need fast, efficient and reliable email while in remote locations, XGate is up to 15x faster than uncompressed internet based email systems. That saves me time, money and frustration - thank you GMN. |

XGate provides faster satellite and wireless email
to significantly save airtime cost and dramatically
increase efficiency. |

World cruising is full of surprises, usually that's what makes it so enjoyable. But the osmosis we discovered on Dream Time, after almost three years of cruising, was not a welcome one. Fortunately, however, we discovered our problem at Gulf Harbour Marina in New Zealand, home to Osmosis Solutions LTD - a company which developed an exclusive epoxy vinylester coating system, which luckily for us, has proven to be one of the most effective and superior osmosis solutions in the world.
Osmosis Solutions' full bottom treatment was developed in the 1980's and is now solidly established as the ultimate repair method for osmosis. In fact they're so confident, they even offer a fully transferable 7-year warranty with their work.
Thank you Osmosis Solutions for restoring Dream Time's hull to better than new condition. |

It’s no use having an idea if I can’t share it with i&D or our clients. Staying connected, wherever we are, isn't a luxury on this cruise, it’s imperative. Axispoint, who specializes in mobile business solutions, helped us integrate a WiFi network that works in conjunction with EVDO and satellite. By providing us with several different antennas, we’re able to customize our connectivity to locate more networks and maximize data rates.
Whether I need to upload project work to clients, reach family and friends or download vital weather information, the WiFi solutions provided by Axispoint helps keep us connected. |

Without question, Dream Time's largest restoration project in preparation for her circumnavigation was rebuilding her decks. Thanks to the exceptional services provided by Teakdecking Systems - from initial design, construction to final installation, Dream Time's teak planking has been fully restored and looks stunning. And thanks to the generous donation of Teakdecking Systems line of outstanding products, from biodegradable cleaners, caulking, sealers and epoxies, our teak decks will continue to stay in great shape as we sail around the world.
For 25 years Teakdecking Systems has been manufacturing custom teak decks and interior flooring for sailboats, super-yachts, mega-yachts, cruise ships, and even luxury homes.

For over seven years, Brewer Yacht Yards helped us ready Dream Time for her circumnavigation. From the top of her mast, to the bottom of her keel, there wasn't a system on the boat they didn't replace or improve.
Thank you Brewer Yacht Yards for your outstanding services and encouragement, without which, it's hard to imagine Dream Time would have ever been ready. And thank you for your continued support - it's reassuring knowing that what ever problems we encounter, where ever we may be, you'll be there to help us stay on course.

To fully prepare Dream Time for extended off-shore cruising we're thankful for the support of SnookBight Yacht Club and Marina. Located in Fort Myers Beach Florida, SnookBight was the perfect location to tackle all of our last-minute projects before heading south into the Caribbean. Thanks to their expert advice and first-rate facilities, we were able to install new solar panels, a Spectra Catalina 150 watermaker, an iCOM SSB radio
and new canvas in record time.

Marina Paraiso truly is Paradise. Located in a protected bay on the island of Isla Mujeres, off the coast of Cancun in Mexico, Marina Paraiso offers a convenient and safe harbor for cruisers or sport fishermen looking to rest, relax or reprovision. In helping us ready Dream Time for our voyage further south, the friendly and professional staff provided us with support, assistance and even took us on a complimentary circumnavigation
of the island in a ponga.
The Marina is in the process of building new docks and luxury condominium units. We'll be sure to stop by on our next time around. |
